The African Cultural Renaissance Movement was today
recognized as the most unique club at the University of Technology, Jamaica
Week of Welcome Clubs and Societies Day. Our booth included unique artefacts
such as, wood carvings, a traditional mortar and pestle, as well as the
attention grabbing African Woman wooden structure standing at 6ft tall. On
display were also ACRM’s multiple awards, historical books, and images from our
past activities.

The ACRM will celebrate its 45th Anniversary of
its founding this year, and are proud of this recognition. Formed in 1971, the
ACRM is the longest serving organization on UTech, Ja campus and continues to
actively promote the study of the African Cultural Heritage and Academic
Excellence through its activities as well as the ACRM Evening Institute. We
look forward to interacting further with our new students, and encourage you to
participate in the activities of clubs and societies on campus as this will
serve to enrich your University experience and most importantly allows you to
develop into a more rounded student.
